Camp
Upper Camp
Program
The Upper Camp program (ages 9-12)
takes place on the upper hillside of our 8.5 acre campus.
All sports, activities and field trips are age appropriate.
NIne year olds, ten year olds and eleven / twelve year olds each have their own separate schedules for activities, swimming and sports. However, they travel together on field trips and compete as a whole in events such as our "penny war" fundraiser.
The center of camp is the “Barn”, a circa 1820's German bank barn that houses the game room, reading center and camp
co-director’s
office. The campus has wooded and open areas where campers enjoy games, challenges, sports and the antics of our resident animals
("Cupcake" and "Tessa" the ponies, llamas "Otis 'Spunky' Spunkmeyer", "Zack"
and "X-Y-Z", and our alpacas "Harley", "Harry" and "Judd").
Camp Enrollment, Hours
and Extended Care - Upper Camp at Hopwood
runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. . The

to make choices for activities and projects. For instance, they
may choose between a hike, cooking, playing a game or going fishing.
All activities are supervised by a counselor.
Planning and Problem Solving - Campers and staff plan and
implement projects which the campers initiate. Counselors encourage

tasks and obstacles. Past projects include a camp newspaper, carnival
